              Camp theme:  Women’s Juicy-ness

This year we are exploring the juice of women:  our emotions!  One of the biggest gifts that women bring to life and to the world is our emotions.  They are the spice of our lives, the juice. (And our juice enlivens men’s lives too).

And yet do we honor them?  Do we let ourselves have them?  Do we value them and what they bring to the world?

Women loving camp

We’ll cover the range from happiness to forgiveness to “emotion stuffing”.  And you’ll be given tools to help you live your emotions in a healthy, invigorating way. (Details below)

Plus, you’ll meet the a whole new set of camp friends!

These are like-minded women who are interested in living their best lives and moving forward in a positive way.

These are just the type of women you want to surround yourself with in life because they will encourage you and fill you up!

                                            Camp Fun

NEW — Ropes  Course:  To experience the range of our emotions in a fun, uplifting way, we’re doing a Ropes course!

Ropes course photo

Ropes courses are an exhilerating way to explore your life  your emotions and your beliefs.

They will challenge you emotionally, mentally and physically.

Set in an old-growth forest, there are a range of activities, from simple walking exercises to activities up in the air–all designed to evoke different emotions and take you past your previous emotional barriers and beliefs.

The best part is, you decide which activities you will participate in and which you will simply observe.

                       Camp Self-Care & Compassion

Most women are fabulous at expressing compassion for others.  Indeed it is our gift to the world, our nuturing eye and heart. Giving ourselves that same level of concern and care is a skill not often taught or modeled at home or in the world.

Great news:  at camp you are going to be encouraged to nurture yourself and follow your heart.

During our downtime, you will be encouraged to ask yourself:  What do I need right now?  What would be thrilling for me?  What would warm my heart?  What would fill me up?

                                  Camp Wisdom Session Details

women gaining wisdom and growing roots

Just Flip It As a Path to Happiness by Cindi Bergen

You can’t get away from negativity or bad things happening in your life but you can choose how you respond. During this presentation, you will learn how to catch yourself in negativity, note faulty thinking patterns, shift your thought process and promote more positivity. Scientific studies have revealed that with a more optimistic view of life we see greater possibilities, bounce back from setbacks faster, connect more readily with others and become the best version of ourselves. We even sleep better.  Join us to learn a simple technique, that with continued effort,  has the ability to transform your life from languishing to flourishing.

Play-doh Your Way to Forgiveness by Rev. Jackie Holland

In his essay, Forgiveness, Emmett Fox writes, “There are few people in the world who have not at some time or other been hurt, really hurt, by someone else; or been dispapointed, or injured, or deceived, or misled.  Such things sink into the memory where they usually cause inflamed and festering wound, and there is only one remedy–they have to be plucked out and thrown away.”

Join Jackie on this gentle journey to release yourself from the pain of the past hurt using one of our life’s joys:  Play-doh.  (Bet you never knew it, or you,  was so powerful!)

Unstuffing Stuffed Emotions by Lynda Davis

Each of us, because of life’s traumas, tends to stuff our emotions.  When we do this, it stops us from fully living our lives with balance, integrity and the resiliency to fulfill our service to the world.

In this session, you will be guided inward to discover aspects of yourself that are unloved and dishonored.  We will work together to discover the roots in how we each disguise our emotions, how and why we wear these disguises and to understand the wisdom behind them.  And most importantly, you will tap into insight on how to transform your legacy of stuffing your emotions so that the destructive patterns can end with you, freeing your family to live more productive, centered, and healthy lives.

This session is not about eliminating our emotions from our lives.  Rather, it is about surfacing them in order for true transformation to begin. Healing is about remembering who we are and what we deeply know.

Ending Emotional Eating by Carlene Snyder

We’ve all done it–eaten to express or supress emotions rather than nourish our bodies.  Here’s some light at the end of that tunnel.  Over meals Carlene will share tips for how to eat healthfully versus eating emotionally.  Mealtime has never been so informative!

Wise Women “Ask Mama” session by a panel of women elders

This fun-filled session will allow you to draw upon the “wisdom of the ages” as we assemble a panel of wise elder women to answer the questions of your heart about your journey through life.  Let the women who’ve lived it before you be a beacon of hope and light for your life.
